The Red Barn at El Refugio is a lovingly restored 1940s barn on five acres of Okanagan valley, where the ceremony happens under an open sky and the reception fills a space with the kind of warmth and character that no decorator could manufacture. Where the backdrop for every photograph is real, living, breathing natural beauty. Where the eagles fish the pond at dusk and the garden is full of flowers and the whole place smells like cedar and Okanagan summer.

Thursday — Arrival
Check in at four. Take a breath. Take a long one. Pour something cold and walk the property with your favourite people. Let the land do what it always does to everyone who arrives here. Watch something in everyone's shoulders drop about three inches.
This is your evening to settle in, gather, and remember why you chose these people to be here with you.
Friday— The Bonus Day
Tomorrow is the day. But today is a gift that most couples never give themselves.
Sleep in. Sit in the cedar hot tub with your wedding party. Do yoga. Walk the pond. Let Okanagan Friday be exactly what it wants to be — unhurried, easy, and full of the particular joy of knowing something extraordinary is coming without needing to rush toward it.
This is the eve of your wedding. Savour it.
Saturday — The Day
Your wedding day. Unhurried. Held. Exactly as you imagined it and probably even better.
Ceremony under the open sky. Reception in the warm glow of the barn. Dancing that goes as long as it wants to. No one watching the clock. No one asking you to wrap it up.
Sunday — The Savour

Every wedding booking includes full exclusive use of The Red Barn and all five acres for four days and three nights. The full kitchen is yours for your catering team. The outdoor ceremony and gathering spaces are yours. The yoga and meditation loft is yours for getting ready, for quiet moments, for whatever the day asks for. The pond, the gardens, the cedar barn, the Okanagan sky — all of it, yours, for three days.

A NOTE ON CATERING + THE BAR
The kitchen is fully yours — bring whatever team, whatever menu, whatever vision you have for the food. We love a food truck. We love a private chef. We love a long table covered in food that someone's grandmother made. All of it is welcome here.
For the bar — alcohol may be consumed responsibly on the property. El Refugio does not hold a liquor licence. Couples wishing to serve alcohol at their celebration are responsible for obtaining a BC Special Event Permit (SEP) through the BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch. We recommend applying at least six weeks before your event date. Many mobile bar services in the Okanagan are familiar with this process and can help guide you through it.
